  • ½–1 tbsp raw sugar, jaggery, maple syrup, coconut sugar, or palm sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp ground turmeric (or ¼ tsp for a milder taste)

  • ⅛ tsp ground Ceylon cinnamon (optional)

  • ⅛ tsp ground ginger (optional)

  • ⅛ tsp crushed black pepper or ground black pepper

Optional Additions:

  • Lemon juice for tanginess

  • Fresh ginger (½ inch, crushed or grated) instead of ginger powder

  • Fresh turmeric root (1–1.5 inch, peeled and grated) instead of powder

  1. Heat Water

    • In a small saucepan, add water and sweetener (if using). Heat until it begins to boil.

  2. Add Spices

    • Stir in turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper. Boil gently for 1–2 minutes.

    • Add lemon juice for tang.

    • Add grated fresh ginger or turmeric root if using.

  4. Serve

    • Pour the tea into a cup. Strain if desired.
