Pick through the sabja seeds to remove any chaff, husks, or stones.

Optionally, rinse the seeds in a fine strainer.

Place the seeds in a bowl and add enough water (¾–1 cup) to allow them to absorb fully.

Tip: Adding extra water prevents the seeds from clumping together.

Let the seeds soak for 20–30 minutes.

The seeds will swell and form a translucent, gelatinous coating.

Drain the seeds and use them in drinks, sherbets, ice creams, falooda, or kulfi.
